we use to evaluate potential investments
In addition to displaying strong financial fundamentals, the
companies we invest in should:
Respect the dignity and value of all people
Support the basic human rights of all people to live free of fear,
violence, intimidation and discrimination and to lead healthy lives.
Help build a world at peace and free from violence
Support the basic human right of all people to live healthy, well
nourished lives free of fear, violence, intimidation and
discrimination.
Internalize a concern for justice in a global society
Provide fair compensation; opportunities to the disadvantaged;
offer products and services honestly, without discrimination;
and when appropriate, enable public involvement in decisions.
Exhibit responsible management practices
Operate in an honest, compassionate and responsible manner
with openness about their policies, finances and behaviour;
respect collective bargaining; and be competitive, but values-
centered.
Support and involve communities
Recognize that communities contribute to corporate success,
and support them with resources and charitable giving. We
avoid alcohol, tobacco, gaming and pornography activities.
Practice environmental stewardship
Recognize that the natural environment is a finite resource, the
inheritance of future generations and a gift from God; pursue
clean production; and minimize animal testing.
