Community Development

Community development investments are investments in local community oriented investment programs that are intended to provide economic growth and opportunity in areas that might not normally have access to investment capital.

The effect on the return to the investor should be insignificant, however, the effect on the recipient of the funds could be very significant.  Meritas invests up to 2% of each of its mutual funds towards community development investments.
